Why outside? Why Leadership?
This is where you'll find posts to update you of our work and interesting references and articles related to the power of developing people outside of the traditional workspace. To begin with, here are a few words to help define why we do what we do:
What do we mean by ‘Outside’? Outside means away from the office. An environment where there is space to walk and talk. Depending on your needs that could be the local park or the high mountains. We go outside to give ourselves room to grow.
Why do we go outside? Increasing evidence and research demonstrates the value of physical action to aid clarity of thinking (click here for more insight to the brilliant research happening in this field). Furthermore, the external environment can provide unique perspectives on learning and problem solving for individuals or small groups.
Why Leadership?
Leadership is in demand. People need good leaders; organisations do too. We have worked in leadership development for 25 years, internationally and in all sectors and cultures, and consistently find that people's contribution at work is improved with good leadership.
In todays' work environment what is also true is that time is tight, pressure is high, and change is intense. Leaders need time to step back, reconsider the strategic perspective, and gather energy to meet those demands.
Outside provides the space you need.
